You may be wondering…

  • As a birth doula, I accompany mamas in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have completed training approved by DONA International and I draw on my professional training, knowledge and personal experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and as needed, communication with the members of your birth team, to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort. I am independent and self-employed. As your doula, I am working for YOU, not your caregiver or hospital.

  • No, for medical care during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum, you should consult with your OB/GYN or CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife). I am also not a licensed/certified psychiatrist or therapist. I offer resources, suggestions and support. My suggestions, views and opinions are mine alone and should not be treated as a medical diagnosis.

  • Please check with your insurance provider. Many insurance companies do provide coverage or reimbursement of doula services. Of the insurance companies that do, all recognize and accept DONA certified doulas. The coverage may be limited to doula services from accredited organizations.

  • I accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, HSA and others. I am willing to work with you on a payment plan. Let’s chat!

  • No, not intentionally. I focus on how your partner can support you first. And if it is working positively, then I’m just in the background serving you both. But sometimes a partner may get uncomfortable, ill, or add unnecessary tension and stress. I am there to read the room and step in as needed. I am a part of your team.

  • Mama, we are going to get comfortable with each other. You’re beautiful in every way.

  • You decide what you need from me and I will follow your plan! However, I will caveat that birthing does not always go according to plan and sometimes things happen. Hello crown!
